Dana Chamblee Carpenter
Dana Chamblee Carpenter is the author of Bohemian Gospel, The Devil’s Bible, and Book of the Just. Bohemian Gospel was listed for YALSA’s 2016 Alex Award. Publisher’s Weekly called it “a deliciously creepy debut.” She was selected as a Goodreads Spotlight Debut Author in 2015. She co-edited an anthology for HarperCollins/Thomas Nelson in 2020 called Women Who Wrote: Stories and Poems from Audacious Literary Mavens, introducing these writer-ancestors to readers in a bold, new way. She has other published short works—short stories and creative nonfiction pieces—many of which are available on the internet. She is an active member of SFWA and the Historical Novel Society and is a Professor of English at a Liberal Arts university in Nashville. When she’s not writing or teaching, she’s working to turn her yard into the wild spaces she loves to visit and write about, the kinds of places where magic likes to grow.
